We are delighted to announce that The Child Friendly Governance Project has joined our global network at Keeping Children Safe. With a strong focus on empowering children and young people for a brighter future, the organisation advocates for child-friendly governance systems that prioritise children’s voices in decision-making processes.
In our current economic and democratic systems, children’s voices often go unheard. Communities worldwide lack the necessary structures to ensure children’s input in policies, services, and budget allocations. This oversight can result in ineffective and inadequate support for children, putting them at risk and hindering their development. The Child Friendly Governance Project aims to change this narrative.
The organisation understands that when children are deprived of their right to be heard, their well-being, development, and future are compromised. Without meaningful participation, decision-makers fail to consider children’s perspectives, leading to policies and services that may not meet their needs.
The Child Friendly Governance Project works through advisory services, capacity-building partnerships, and knowledge exchange to empower organisations to place children at the heart of their operations, policies, and actions. By joining the KCS network, the Child Friendly Governance Project reinforces its commitment to child safeguarding and seeks to collaborate with practitioners in the field to enhance their work and share expertise on meaningful child and youth participation.
As we welcome The Child Friendly Governance Project to our network, we celebrate their commitment to empowering children and young people. Together, we will advance child safeguarding and create a world where children’s voices are valued.
