We warmly welcome Refugee Voice and Action (RVA) as they join our global network at Keeping Children Safe. This organisation was founded in 2012 by Mulangaliro Rwagaza, a young Congolese refugee in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, to support refugees in understanding and realising their rights.
Their programmes include work in child protection through Parenting without Violence sessions, economic development, education, healthcare, sports and cultural understanding, among others and the aim behind them is to help build strong relationships between refugees, the government and service providers to improve the quality and accessibility of essential services in this refugee camp, which in turn impacts the daily lives of children and their families.
Their wish to join the KCS network stems from their need to learn more about safeguarding measures, as well as to benefit from training, resources and opportunities to make their work visible to the global network and help children identify violence at home, in school and other areas of their lives.
RVA thus envisions a future where they can ensure safe environments for children to grow and thrive while understanding the importance of adult guidance and cooperation in this vision.
Let us work together to support refugee children and uphold their rights.
