We are excited to announce that Keeping Children Safe (KCS) will host International Child Safeguarding Week 2024 (ICSW 2024) from 21 to 25 October 2024. This global campaign is designed to emphasise that safeguarding children from exploitation and abuse is everyone’s responsibility.
Throughout the week, we will share resources focused on raising awareness and promoting best practices in child safeguarding. Each day of the week will highlight a specific aspect of child safeguarding, with resources and guidance tailored to different roles within organisations. Here’s a rundown of what each day will bring:
- 21 October – Day 1: Child Safeguarding in Communications.
- 22 October – Day 2: Child Safeguarding Responsibilities for Researchers
- 23 October – Day 3: Localisation and Working with Partners on Child Safeguarding
- 24 October – Day 4: Child Safeguarding Responsibilities for Trustees and Leaders
- 25 October – Day 5: Child Safeguarding Champions of the Year. We will announce and honour the winners of the KCS Child Safeguarding Champion of the Year award, spotlighting their contributions and inspiring others in the child safeguarding community. Nominations for this award closed on 22 September.
