Towards safer learning environments: English Schools Foundation joins KCS

Keeping Children Safe (KCS) is happy to welcome the English Schools Foundation (ESF) to our global child safeguarding network. As the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong, ESF serves over 18,500 students from 75 different nationalities across 22 schools, including kindergartens, primary, secondary, and all-through schools.

ESF is renowned for its high academic achievements and a comprehensive programme of extracurricular activities that bring out the best in every student. In 2024, 23 ESF students achieved the perfect score of 45 points in the IB Diploma examinations, with all IB Diploma students achieving an average point score of 36.6 — a testament to their commitment to inspiring curious minds and fostering a true love for learning.

As the largest English-medium education provider in Southeast Asia, ESF is driven by the belief that every child has the right to learn and live in conditions that protect them from harm – and is thus dedicated to promoting its students’ intellectual, physical, emotional and social wellbeing.

By joining the Keeping Children Safe Global Network, ESF seeks to enhance and refine its approach towards child safeguarding and maintain the highest standards and unwavering commitment to creating safer learning environments for every child to thrive. Their main focus points are digital safeguarding, safer recruitment, self-evaluation and an external accreditation process with KCS, to further raise awareness and support staff in responding to all matters related to student safety.

Together, we will work to ensure that every child can reach their full potential in a secure and nurturing setting.
