eLiberare, a Romanian organisation focused on preventing and combating human trafficking and sexual exploitation, has joined Keeping Children Safe’s network. This will help them promote strong safeguarding policies as they continue to build a social movement against human trafficking.
‘As we are focusing on children and adolescents in both our prevention work and our assistance programs, we believe in having strong safeguarding policies. The partnership with KCS is a natural step to strengthen our capacity and knowledge and having International Child Safeguarding Standards that will guide us into keeping children safe.’ Said Andreea Spataru, Head of Assistance and Detection at eLiberare.
The organisation’s priorities include:
- Prevention education: reducing the risk of exploitation by creating practical tools that contribute to critical thinking among children and adolescents.
- Capacity building: organising training sessions on how to tackle human trafficking designed for social workers, teachers, police officers, priests or other groups of formal and informal leaders active at the community level.
- Assistance: supporting victims of trafficking within their two Centers for Information and Assistance for the Detection of Human Trafficking Cases.
- Advocacy and public policies: improving the legislative frameworks for better protection of victims.
We are glad to be joined by eLibrare and we hope our support is valuable for their mission.
